Do not worry. Worrying is bad. Worrying only creates conflict. Worrying has no good outcome. What happens when a boyfriend worries about a girlfriend cheating on him? Conflict. What happens when the mother worries about her son being home late? Conflict. What happens when a student worries about their upcoming test? Conflict.
Once there was a man who came face to face with death. Death said to the man “Tonight I am going to take 100 of your people.” The man said back, “Please death! At least give me a chance to warn all of my people!” Death replied, “Go ahead, do what you need to do, and I will do what I’m going to do.” So the man warned all of his people and did his thing. The next morning the man woke up and was shocked to see what had happened, angrily he came to death crying, “Why death, why did you take more than 100 of my people? You told me only 100.” And death replied, “Yes, and I only took 100 of your people, just as I promised. All of the other people who had died, died of worry.”
Nothing good comes out of worry!
And even the Bible tells us in Matthew that we should not worry. No, actually it says “Do not worry” 3 times. 3 TIMES! When something is repeated 3 times in such a short context it must mean something serious. And it makes so much sense.
Matthew:
25”Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
28”And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
